PUBLIC HEARING
MARCH 4, 2008
GALWAY TOWN HALL

Supervisor Hargrave called the Public Hearing to order at 7:00 p.m.  The following Town Board Members were present:          

PRESENT:       Supervisor George Hargrave                 Councilman Michael Tillson
Councilwoman Susan Sutch                  Councilman George Weed

ABSENT:        Councilman William Topper

 OTHER PRESENT:  N. Cayey; D. Balbian; S. Baily; B. Kniskern; J. Wisniewski; A. LoCascio; P. Lent, Planning Board Chairman  & M. DeFoe, Town Clerk.

The clerk read the legal notice as placed in the Daily Gazette on February 15, 2008 and posted at Town Hall; Library; Post Office & Bank.  Public Hearing for purpose of reviewing Local Law # 1 of 2008, - “Changes to the Code of the Town of Galway regarding its Subdivision & Zoning Laws”.

Communications – All Board Members received copies of correspondence from the Galway Lake Campers Association in support of proposed zoning regulation changes as written.

Privilege of the FloorJohn Wisniewski felt the Zoning Board of Appeals was too lenient with applicants that come before them.  Tony LoCascio was pleased with the work done by Town Board on zoning.  Sheelagh Baily was happy to see that the Galway Lake Campers Association supported the proposed changes to the zoning.  Sheelagh supported the changes to the zoning.  Paul Lent stated that the Planning Board was anxious to get the completed document on zoning and start working with it.  Planning Board would like to see Town Board close the review process and adopt document.  He realizes that this is an ongoing process, and updating should keep going.  Sheelagh Baily stated that when the Comprehensive Planning Committee worked on that plan, they determined that it should be looked at again in five years for updating.  Councilman Weed thanked the Lake Association for letter of support

The Public Hearing was adjourned at 7:13 p.m.
