SPECIAL MEETING
APRIL 20, 2005
GALWAY TOWN HALL

Supervisor Hargrave called the special meeting to order at 8:00 p.m.  The following Town Board Members were present:

PRESENT:       Supervisor George Hargrave                 Councilman Michael Tillson               Councilman William Topper                        Councilman George Weed

ABSENT:        Councilwoman Susan Sutch

OTHERS PRESENT:     None   

Pledge to the Flag

Supervisor Hargrave advised that the Board had just concluded the interview for the two open positions on the Board of Assessment Review. 

RESOLUTION # 27-2005 - Appointment of Frank W. Schwab IV to Board of Assessment Review.  On a motion of Councilman Tillson, seconded by Councilman Topper the following resolution was ADOPTED BY ROLL CALL VOTE:
Supervisor George Hargrave – AYE                 Councilman Michael Tillson – AYE
Councilman William Topper – AYE                  Councilman George Weed – AYE
     RESOLVED that the Galway Town Board appoint Frank W. Schwab IV to the Board of Assessment Review to fill the vacancy of Doreen Clemens with a term to expire 9/30/09.
     All ayes.                                                                  MOTION CARRIED

RESOLUTION # 28-2005 – Appointment of Ivy M. Cooper to Board of Assessment Review.  On a motion of Councilman Weed, seconded by Councilman Tillson the following resolution was ADOPTED BY ROLL CALL VOTE:
Supervisor George Hardgrave – AYE   Councilman Michael Tillson – AYE
Councilman William Topper – AYE                  Councilman George Weed – AYE
     RESOLVED that the Galway Town Board appoint Ivy M. Cooper to the Board of Assessment Review to fill the vacancy of Adrienne Beebe with a term to expire 9/30/05.
     All ayes.                                                                  MOTION CARRIED

RESOLUTION # 29-2005 – Shorten probation period for Deputy Court Clerk to six months.  Supervisor Hargrave stated that the Justices have requested that the Board reconsider the probation period for the Court Clerk and take under consideration at the completion of that probation period the possibility of making this a salary position at approximately $2,600.  On a motion of Councilman Tillson, seconded by Councilman Topper the following resolution was ADOPTED:  AYES – 4        NAYS – 0
     RESOLVED that the Galway Town Board shorten the probation period for the Deputy Court Clerk from one year to six months, salary to be taken under consideration at completion of probation. 
     All ayes.                                                                  MOTION CARRIED

Councilman Weed made a motion, seconded by Councilman Topper to adjourn the special meeting at 8:15 p.m.
     All ayes.                                                                  MOTION CARRIED
