Building Permit Application Checklist
Residential Driveway Interface Permit - is required on all Town Highways. Contact Highway Superintendent David Costanzo at 882-6651. The completed form must be signed by the Highway Superintendent. No Certificate of Occupancy will be issued until this Driveway Interface Permit has been approved and accepted.
Complete Building Permit Application Form
NYS Engineered Septic Design. This is to include the percolation test results, as well as the location of the test holes.
Certificate of Insurance from contractors to the Town of Galway.
Survey by NYS Licensed Surveyor, as well as a plot plan showing yard dimensions, existing structures, adjacent properties, location of driveway, accessory buildings, etc.
2 sets of building plans signed, sealed and dated by NYS Engineer oar Architect. Include structural, electrical, and plumbing specifications, as well as Certification of Energy Code.
Copy of deed and tax parcel number.
Site inspection. Before any excavation takes place, the location of the proposed building must be staked. Failure to comply will immediately cause the revocation of your building permit.

Before any blasting, for any reason, the following requirements, at a minimum, must be met: 1. Copy of contractors NYS license and 2. Contractors Certificate of Insurance.
Occupancy of your residence without a Certificate of Occupancy will not be tolerated. If occupancy occurs for any reason before the Certificate of Occupancy has been issued, a summons will be issued for appearance in Town Court. There can be no exceptions.
