Town Of Galway
2006/2007 Proposed Zoning Changes
The Galway Town Board has just completed a set of proposed changes to the town's zoning ordinances. These proposed changes were brought about in response to items that were identified in the Town's comprehensive plan, as needing action or updating from the original ordinances that existed at the time.
The proposed ordinances come in several parts:
The first part, is the text of the zoning ordinances, including all of the definitions and details of the various zones. The text part can be found here in MS Word format, or by clicking here if you wish to have it in PDF format.
The second part, is the Bulk and Use Schedule, which is in PDF format, and which details the amount of land required for each dwelling unit, in each district, and also details any other requirements, such as maximum height or total amount of building area on any lot. In the text document, this is referred to as appendix 3.
The third part, is the Use Schedule, which is in PDF format and details what uses are allowable in any particular zone. In the text document, this is referred to as appendix 4.
The fourth part, are the various maps (all in PDF format) which show the zones:
Zoning districts - a map showing the various zoning districts
Natural Resource Protection Overlay Ridgelines and Visibility- map showing areas that might
require extra protection or handling during development.
Natural Resource Protection Overlay - Ridgelines and Steep Slopes - map showing areas that might
